2011: USC Shoah Foundation expanded its teacher education to Serbia, providing a training session on the methodology of Holocaust education in Subotica for high school educators. During a session of the daylong training organized by an association for Hungarian-speaking educators, the Institute’s Hungarian Regional Consultant Andrea Szönyi presented the educational use of video testimony and shared available resources in Hungarian.
Conferences and Workshops
- 2015: A USC Shoah Foundation representative gave a presentation in Subotica, Serbia, as part of a conference hosted by the Hungarian Consulate in honor of the anniversary of the deportation of the Jews of Subotica during the Holocaust. Titled “Personal Stories in Holocaust Education,” the demonstration by Institute International Training Consultant Andrea Szönyi provided an overview of USC Shoah Foundation’s Visual History Archive and its educational programs for students and educators that utilize testimony of Holocaust survivors and witnesses.
