Dr. Smith, described by USC College of Letters, Arts & Sciences Dean Howard Gillman as "one of the world's leading advocates of Holocaust education and genocide prevention," came to the Institute in 2009 after founding the UK Holocaust Centre and the Aegis Trust for the prevention of crimes against humanity and genocide.
