IWitness Workshop at Dallas Holocaust Museum’s Educator Conference

Wed, 07/22/2015 - 5:00pm

Teachers in Texas can register to attend Dallas Holocaust Museum’s Holocaust and Human Rights Educator Conference Aug. 3 and 4.

The training is open to teachers, administrators and other educators of all grade levels and subjects. Click here to learn more and register.

The first day of the training will be dedicated to Holocaust education. Participants will receive the Echoes and Reflections Teacher’s Resource Guide and learn how to incorporate it into their lesson plans and classroom activities. Echoes and Reflections is composed of 10 modules that include everything teachers need to teach about the Holocaust, including testimony clips and primary source documents. Each module covers a different aspect of the Holocaust, such as Antisemitism and The Final Solution.

Lesly Culp, USC Shoah Foundation senior education specialist and trainer, will also lead a workshop on IWitness, the Institute’s free, interactive educational website that allows students to interact with testimony from the Visual History Archive.

The second day of the training will focus on lesson plans and classroom activities about human rights and genocide more broadly.
