La 51ème édition du Concours national de la Résistance et de la Déportation avait retenu pour l’année scolaire 2011-2012 le thème suivant : “Résister dans les camps nazis”. Un groupe de huit élèves de 3ème du collège de Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine) a choisi de traiter ce thème à travers un projet audiovisuel portant sur la révolte des Sonderkommandos d’Auschwitz-Birkenau le 7 octobre 1944. Ce travail s’est appuyé sur les récits de onze témoins des événements, récits issus de la collection de témoignages du Shoah Foundation Institute.

Le mercredi 20 juin 2012 a eu lieu à la Préfecture des Hauts-de-Seine, la cérémonie de la remise des prix du Concours national de la Résistance et de la Déportation (édition 2012).  La cérémonie s'est déroulée en présence de M. Pierre-André Peyvel, préfet des Hauts-de-Seine, et de M. Edouard Rosselet, inspecteur d'académie des Hauts-de-Seine.Album publié:  le 26 juin 2012

Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust installation features all of the Institute's 51,696 testimonies LA Weekly's annual Best of LA 2012 honored the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust's Tree of Testimony exhibit with the award for "Best Video Art Exhibit." The interactive exhibit immerses visitors in survivors' memories from the Institute's Visual History Archive.

On April 20, at Los Angeles City Hall, Councilmember Paul Krekorian, together with co-host Councilmember Eric Garcetti, recognized the USC Shoah Foundation Institute and the Armenian Film Foundation for working jointly to preserve memories of survivors and other witnesses of the Armenian Genocide.

Ricordare ogni anno, nel giorno della memoria, la tragedia della Shoah è garanzia che questa tristissima pagina della recente storia sia consegnata alla Storia e superi il rischio di un appuntamento rituale, con scadenze fisse e un po' consolatorie?(Stefania Consenti dal libro "Il Futuro della Memoria) A questa domanda si è cercato di dare risposta in una tavola rotonda organizzata a Milano, che ha coinvolto storici, ricercatori, giornalisti etre testimoni italiani sopravvissuti alla Shoah.

Az összesen 20 videó-interjúból álló felületen a látogatók az egyes túlélők élettörténeteit láthatják. A vetített felület két szélén érzékelő kamerákat helyeztek el, melyek az indítási pontra álló látogató irányító kézmozdulatát érzékelve kinagyítják a látogató által kiválasztott videót és hanggal együtt lejátszanak egy néhány perces részletet az interjúból. Az kiválasztott interjú meghatározott helyről, egy látogató által  "indítható", de a kiemelt részletet a többi jelen lévő látogató nézheti, hallgathatja.

Graduates of the Institute’s Master Teacher Program will debut IWitness next week at the 2012 National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) Annual Conference, demonstrating how the award-winning website, now in beta, weaves together digital literacy development, online citizenship, and tolerance education based on the life stories of Holocaust survivors and other witnesses.
