Robin Migdol joined the USC Shoah Foundation as staff writer in July 2013. She received her master’s in Specialized Journalism-The Arts from USC in 2013 and her bachelor’s in English and Film Studies from UC Davis in 2012. She has written for a variety of publications including The Village Voice/LA Weekly, LA STAGE Times, Palo Alto Weekly and the Stanford News Service, focusing on features and arts.

Kátia Lerner worked as interviewer and Regional Assistant Coordinator for USC Shoah Foundation in Rio de Janeiro from 1996 to 1999. After that period, she continued her work as liaison until 2012. Katia received an MA in Social Communication and a PhD in Cultural Anthropology, both at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Her thesis analyzes the process of shaping the memory of the Holocaust taking as object of study the then called Survivors of the Holocaust Visual History Foundation (from 1994 to 2001).

Amy Marczewski Carnes, Ph.D. completed her doctorate at UCLA in French and Francophone Studies in 2007.  During graduate studies, she taught French language, literature, film, and culture courses in both the U.S. and in France.  Her dissertation, entitled Remembering Together:  Francophone African Literature’s Re-Imagining of the Rwandan Genocide, analyzes the strategies that literature adopts for memorializing genocide and considers new models of commemoration that may cultivate reconciliation in post-conflict society.
