On September 10, 2011, the USC Shoah Foundation Institute conducted a seminar at the Ukrainian House national center in Kyiv to train teachers on the use of Pain of Memory, a new multimedia kit designed for educators in Ukraine.  Pain of Memory is a comprehensive kit designed to enhance the educational experience of the exhibition “Shoah by Bullets:  Mass Shootings of Jews in Ukraine 1941-1944.”  Presented by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in partnership with Mémorial de la Shoah, Yahad-In Unum, and the Ukrainian Embassies of Israel, France, Germany, and the United States, the

On April 20, at Los Angeles City Hall, Councilmembers Paul Krekorian and Eric Garcetti recognized the USC Shoah Foundation Institute and the Armenian Film Foundation for working jointly to preserve memories of survivors and other witnesses of the Armenian Genocide.

In order to mark the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Numerus Clausus law in Hungary, the Holocaust Memorial Center in Budapest has organized an exhibition to commemorate of the event.  The exhibition aims to show the rise in anti-Semitism in the 1920s, and the evolution of Hungarian society from social and political inclusion to one of exclusion.  The exhibition features testimony clips of four survivors from the Institute’s Visual History Archive, as well as posters, prints, news articles, photos, newsreels, radio speeches, and other artifacts.  The exhibit runs from Oct

Political movements are strongly remembered through the iconic visuals created amidst the controversy.  Collecting these artistic interpretations is the mission of the Center for the Study of Political Graphics, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that gathers, preserves and showcases international poster art that responds to the cry for social change.  Eighteen of these posters have been selected for exhibition at the USC Fisher Museum of Art in partnership with USC Shoah Foundation–The Institute for Visual History and Education.  The exhibition, titled Denouncing Violence Against Women
