Jenna Leventhal is the associate director of education - digital engagement and oversees IWitness. She received her master’s in public history from the University of Houston and in 2011 joined the staff of the USC Shoah Foundation to work on IWitness, while the educational website was still undergoing testing and development. Leventhal was first introduced to the USC Shoah Foundation as an undergraduate at UC Santa Barbara, working on a project for a public history course.

Dan Leshem is Associate Director for Research Director of the USC Shoah Foundation–The Institute for Visual History and Education. Dr. Leshem holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature & Jewish Studies from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. His dissertation, The Language of Suffering: Writing and Reading the Holocaust argued for the necessity of ethical approaches to interpreting Holocaust testimony.

Amy Marczewski Carnes, Ph.D. completed her doctorate at UCLA in French and Francophone Studies in 2007.  During graduate studies, she taught French language, literature, film, and culture courses in both the U.S. and in France.  Her dissertation, entitled Remembering Together:  Francophone African Literature’s Re-Imagining of the Rwandan Genocide, analyzes the strategies that literature adopts for memorializing genocide and considers new models of commemoration that may cultivate reconciliation in post-conflict society.

With responsibility for oversight of the Institute’s day-to-day operations, Kim Simon directs the development and implementation of all core mission activities including the education program, research agenda, documentation activity, public outreach, and administration. Simon acts as the Institute’s program and project manager; leading senior staff, setting strategic priorities and goals, analyzing program outcomes, developing implementation plans, and ensuring alignment with larger university and college strategies.

Karen Jungblut, USC Shoah Foundation's director of research and documentation, oversees scholarship and research activities. With the Institute since 1996, Karen has led an international and multilingual staff to successfully catalog and index the archive and has been instrumental in developing the indexing and cataloging methodology and software applications. Karen received an MA in Political Science from the Freie Universität Berlin and a BA in History and International Affairs from Hunter College, New York.

Jeffrey Langham oversees the management and the strategic development of the Institute's website. Prior to the Institute, Jeffrey worked at a Los Angeles-area design firm for seven years as a web designer/programmer with experience in print design and copywriting. He received his doctorate in English Literature from the University of Southern California.

USC Shoah Foundation archivist Sandra Aguilar interprets and formats information and details about the interviewees and the interviews to be brought into the database systems of the Visual History Archive. She is also a liaison between USC Shoah Foundation’s research specialists and database programmers to develop ways for the testimonies to be searched and experienced.

David Adelman serves on USC Shoah Foundation’s Board of Councilors. David is the CEO of Campus Apartments LLC, a Philadelphia company that develops and operates on- and off-campus student housing. He is also the co-founder and vice chairman of FS Investments, a nationwide distributor of alternative investment products, and vice chairman of FS Investment Corporation, a publicly registered business development company focused on investing in the debt securities of private U.S. companies.

Special Education teacher Andra Coulter has worked for the Calgary Board of Education since 2006 teaching in a unique setting for students who demonstrate severe externalizing behaviors. Coulter builds upon the existing abilities of her students to promote the development of their strengths, skills and attributes across school, home and social environments. Coulter has a background in the non-profit sector, working and volunteering for various local agencies prior to her work as a teacher. She holds a B.A in Psychology and a B.Ed in Elementary Education.

Bengels attended the 2015 Auschwitz: The Past is Present professional development program in Poland led by USC Shoah Foundation and Discovery Education to commemorate the 70th anniversary

Shael Rosenbaum works in real estate development and management and is the President of Fremont Street Holdings. Shael served as the National Chair of the Canadian Young Adult March of the Living and is currently the Chair of the UJA Federation Sarah and Chaim Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre in Toronto. Shael was also the Master of Ceremonies at the largest rally against antisemitism in Canadian history. Most recently, he graduated from the Joshua Institute. Shael obtained a degree in Biological and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Western Ontario.

Anna Lenchovska, M.D. in Psychology, is the international consultant in Ukraine for USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education. For nearly 10 years she has helped develop educational resources on how to use video testimonies in Ukraine classrooms.  Lenchovska also serves as executive director of the Congress of National Minorities of Ukraine. Prior to this she worked in the Ukrainian NGO “Institute of Jewish Studies” and a clinic for child psychiatry and psychotherapy.

Dr. Claudia Ramirez Wiedeman is Director of Education at the USC Shoah Foundation.
