In this lesson, students examine the character trait “courage.” Activities include watching visual history testimony clips, given by a rescuer, a member of the resistance, and a survivor of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
Each addresses a different perspective on courage and are used to prompt class discussions about the nature of courage and fear.
This Lesson Plan consists of small-group work, whole class discussions, creative writing prompts, and independent practice. Students complete a word-web that explores the meaning and connotation of courage.
