Students all over the world can now complete an IWitness activity about the dangers of being a bystander that was first piloted in the United States and Rwanda.

A graduate of USC Shoah Foundation’s teacher training programs in Hungary is constructing and pilot-testing the first-ever original Hungarian-language IWitness activity.

USC Shoah Foundation’s IWitness activity “Arrival at Auschwitz” was piloted in Ukraine last week with 15 students, many of whom had experienced being displaced themselves in the country’s 2014 unrest.

Starting today and continuing each Friday throughout the month of April, IWitness will publish a new activity geared for Rwandan students.

The newest activity in IWitness draws on testimonies of Holocaust survivors to spark students’ reflection on how identity, and the struggle to hide it, can affect people from all walks of life.

Today IWitness launched its entire suite of new content and features to coincide with the new school year, including 13 new multimedia activities on a variety of languages and topics.

Inspired by the United States’ 2016 presidential campaign, IWitness has just published a new activity that draws on current events to enhance students’ skills in leadership, media literacy and using their voices responsibly on social media.
