Navazují na předchozí materiály tohoto souboru vybízející k diskusím o identitě, rasistických zákonech a nálepkách, které si lidé navzájem dávají. Změna jména jednoho z protagonistů těchto vzpomínek, Rudolfa Freudenfelda, který se v poválečném Československu přejmenoval na Fraňka, může vybízet k diskusím o kontinuitě protižidovských a potažmo i protiněmeckých předsudků.

Úryvek ze svědectví Marie Hořákové popisuje situaci v této nemocnici pohledem jedné ze zdravotních sester, ženy, kterou chránilo manželství s takzvaně „árijským“ mužem. Perzekuce těchto mužů, odmítajících rozvod s manželkami, jež byly rasistickými zákony označeny za židovky, je specificky protektorátní kapitolou historie holocaustu. Pouze u nás byli za odmítání rozvodu vězněni, internováni a deportováni do koncentračních táborů.

Pomoc, kterou deportovaným poskytovali příbuzní chránění sňatkem s „árijcem“ je historiky často přehlížena. Vinohradský příběh Věry Saudkové je unikátnější tím, že deportovanými příbuznými byly v jejím případě sestry Franze Kafky, dnes celosvětově slavného spisovatele a pražské intelektuální a turistické ikony. Gabriela (Elli), Valerie (Valli) a Otylie (Ottla) Kafkovy se konce války nedožily.

Eli Benyacar describes life in the Salonika Ghetto in Greece including the cramped apartment shared between multiple families. Eli also recalls how a Greek policeman notified his family that men were being deported to Auschwitz and helped the men in the family escape the deportations. However, the next day Eli and his brother found out that everyone including woman were deported so they returned to be deported with the rest of their family.
