USC Shoah Foundation Launches "Searching for Never Again" Podcast

USC Shoah Foundation announced today the upcoming release of the Searching for Never Again Podcast which launches on April 22nd. From the heartbreaking to the inspirational, the podcast explores the past and present of antisemitism and hate, and how together we can understand and resist it.

Hosted by Dr. Robert J. Williams, CEO and Finci-Viterbi Chair of the USC Shoah Foundation, UNESCO Chair on Antisemitism and Holocaust Research, and the Advisor to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, each episode of Searching for Never Again includes conversations with writers, thinkers, artists, political leaders and those who have experienced hate, with stories of resilience and hope, while Searching for Never Again.

In the premier episode of Searching for Never Again, Williams talks with Holocaust survivor Dr. Irene Butter, about her remarkable story of fleeing Hitler's Germany, and surviving the concentration camps, before coming to the US where she led an inspiring life dedicated to education and dialogue. Dr. Butter shares important observations about our obligations in times of increasing division and rising antisemitism.

The second episode features award-winning writer and comedian Alex Edelman as he talks with Williams about how comedy can allow us to understand and push back against harmful rhetoric. Edelman also discusses the evolving landscape of Jewish identity, the challenges of rising antisemitism, and why humor matters in such times.

The world needs more opportunities for thoughtful and compelling dialogue on the history of the Holocaust, and all the contemporary matters that make this history relevant and necessary. We will speak with a wide range of voices, all of whom share important perspectives on the past, the present, and our need for a shared future,” said Williams.
