IWitness Reaches 20,000 Users, and Other New Institute Statistics
USC Shoah Foundation added a new country and language to the Visual History Archive and surpassed 20,000 IWitness users in the last quarter of 2013.
With the addition of the Shoah Foundation’s new collection of 12 testimonies from the 1937 Nanjing Massacre, which were conducted in China in Mandarin, the Visual History Archive now contains testimonies from 34 countries in 58 languages. The collection will be officially incorporated into the Visual History Archive in February.
Over 1,400 teachers and 3,500 students registered for IWitness last quarter, bringing the total number of users over 20,000. In addition, three countries – Georgia, Croatia and Peru – registered users for the first time.
Sixteen university courses were taught using the Visual History Archive, including four at the University of Southern California.
