On January 27, 2015, on the authentic site of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum hosted a commemoration marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the extermination camp by a Ukrainian division of the Red Soviet Army. Three hundred survivors were in attendance from 17 different countries along with dignitaries from around the world.
