Lecture in Ukraine by Stephen D. Smith: “Testimony in an Age of Violent Ideologies”
On September 8, Stephen D. Smith, Executive Director of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute, gave a lecture titled The Power of Words: Testimony in an Age of Violent Ideologies, and demonstrated the Visual History Archive at the Interdisciplinary Judaic Studies Program of the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Smith visited Ukraine for the opening of the exhibition "Shoah by Bullets: The Mass Shootings of the Jews in Ukraine 1941-1944," presented by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in partnership with Mémorial de la Shoah, Yahad-In Unum, and the Ukrainian Embassies of Israel, France, Germany, and the United States. The exhibition will be on display at the Ukrainian House (2, Khreschatyk, Kiev) from September 9 to October 3.
