Turkish Difficulties Dealing With the Armenian Genocide: Taner Akçam Speaks at USC
On April 26, 2010, the USC Shoah Foundation Institute hosted a speaking engagement by Dr. Taner Akçam, Associate Professor of History, and the Kaloosdian/Mugar Chair in Armenian Genocide Studies at Clark University's Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
Dr. Akçam, who spoke about Turkish difficulties dealing with the Armenian Genocide, is one of the first Turkish academics to acknowledge and discuss openly the genocide committed by the Ottoman Turkish government in 1915.
