Letter from Barbra Streisand
Dear Friends,
Our longtime supporter and friend Barbra Streisand has an important message to share with our community for Hanukkah. Barbra sparks inspiration in us all, just as one candle lights the others during the Hanukkah celebration.
With best wishes,

My dear fellow participants in the compassionate purposes USC Shoah Foundation serves in this troubled time, when antisemitism is again on the rise.
Our confrontation with renewed ignorance and baseless hatred, so tragically laid bare in the recent attack of a Pittsburgh synagogue, gives even greater urgency to USC Shoah Foundation’s call to the conscience of the world. It’s a heartless new world order which seeks to use hatred as a tool to gain and hold power, that threatens our own land and democratic countries everywhere.
Hatred, such as our people have always faced, is the true weapon of mass destruction. Its facilitation is something we must oppose with all the strength of our souls, never letting down our guard, forever showing the truth. Truth, history never forgotten, and ignorance always recognized and confronted, are USC Shoah Foundation’s great commitment. And I congratulate you all for serving that goal. Our commitment to “Never Again” must now be redoubled. These are words not just to describe the past, but to inform the future…that we should all fight for equality, truth, kindness…and for each other.
L’chaim – to life!
