USC Libraries Research Guide: France

The French collection is one of the largest in the USC Shoah Foundation's archive. Interviewees talk about France in a total of 7,123 testimonies (before WWII: 2,568; during WWII: 2,100; after WWII: 2,455). Their interviews were conducted in various languages - including 1,858 interviews in French - and in several different locations - 1,649 in France. A total of 1,340 of the archive's interviewees were born in France.
