USC Shoah Foundation’s Stephen Smith among group of Holocaust experts to reach out to Mark Zuckerberg

USC Shoah Foundation Executive Director Stephen Smith joined a group of leaders from Holocaust and genocide-awareness organizations who signed a letter offering to meet with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who sparked controversy last month by saying he wouldn’t shut down accounts of Holocaust deniers.

“Facebook must not allow complete and utter falsehoods about the Holocaust, and about the Jewish people, to go systematically unchecked,” says the letter, which was featured in a story by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. “Virulent antisemitism is a proven pathway that leads from rhetorical hatred to actions of violence.”
