USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education brought its series of events for Genocide Awareness Week to a close on Thursday, April 11, 2013 with a screening and discussion with filmmaker Elida Schogt.

Following a screening of Finding Hillywood, a documentary about the birth of the Rwandan film industry, Rwandan film pioneer Eric Kabera spoke about making movies 20 years after the genocide in a Q&A hosted by USC Shoah Foundation executive director Stephen Smith.

The first-ever Rated SR Socially Relevant Film Festival will show two USC Shoah Foundation documentaries in its Spotlight on Human Loss March 16 and 17 in New York City.

Schindler’s List producer Branko Lustig will play a key role in this year’s Let’s Cee Film Festival in Vienna, which welcomes filmmakers and film enthusiasts from all over Central and Eastern Europe.

The film originally premiered at Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum on January 27, 2015, the commemoration ceremony for the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the camp.

USC Shoah Foundation has partnered with Journeys in Film to provide, on its educational website IWitness, 11 clips of testimony from the Visual History Archive relevant to the documentary film Defiant Requiem, along with Journeys in Film’s Defiant Requiem curriculum guide.

The documentary Two Sides of Survival just landed Winner of Best Documentary Short at the Angeles Film Festival. Produced by USC Shoah Foundation, Two Sides of Survival brings together stories from the East and West, chronicling how Jews who fled the Nazis in Europe, and Chinese who were threatened by Japanese occupation, improbably found refuge close to one another in the 1930’s and during World War II.
