The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), in cooperation with USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education, hosted the 12th Southern California Teacher Forum on Holocaust Education, “Teaching about the Holocaust,” at the University of Southern California.  Approximately 90 educators from the greater Los Angeles area attended the three-day program.

The question “How do you teach this stuff?” is what brought me to USC Shoah Foundation in 2010 to begin my training and work as a Master Teacher. I was beginning to understand that survivor testimony is the formative center of Holocaust education, that once a student begins to see Holocaust education content through the lens of testimony, the education and the student begin to change in ways that are profound.

Visit Echoes & Reflections for comprehensive programming and resources about the Holocaust especially designed for educators so they can gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to teach this topic effectively. On January 27, 2020, the bipartisan bill passed in the House with nearly unanimous support. Today, it passed the senate with complete support and is now on its way for the president's signature.
