IWitness Challenge Body Copy
The IWitness Challenge offers an opportunity for middle and high school students to launch a project that showcases creativity, develops multimedia skills and affects positive change in their communities.
The annual contest invites students to initiate a community-service project and build a short video essay about the project in a way that incorporates clips of relevant testimony from IWitness.
Containing hundreds of full-length video interviews of people who not only survived genocide but also thrived later in life, IWitness is a trove of inspiration for students with an interest in community service. The survivors’ stories of overcoming hatred, violence and intolerance resonate with the struggles of many people in the present day who could use a helping hand, such as the homeless, victims of domestic violence, immigrants, orphans, and prisoners.
