Facing History and Ourselves is partnering with the USC Shoah Foundation to explore how Facing History teachers can use IWitness, the Institute’s educational website, to shape teaching and learning experiences for students in a Facing History course.

On the heels of USC Shoah Foundation’s new partnership with the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall to collect and preserve testimony of Nanjing Massacre survivors, the educational platform Facing History and Ourselves signed an agreement to integrate three of those testimonies into its own educational materials.
The University of Toronto now has access to the Visual History Archive. Over 2,800 testimonies are from survivors living in Toronto and other parts of Canada.
A delegation of USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education supporters and board members will travel to Hungary and Poland this October to commemorate the Institute’s 20th anniversary and learn more about its work in Eastern Europe.
Over the last three months, USC Shoah Foundation has increased its presence in academia, schools and on the web, according to its latest Institute Statistics report.
USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education was among the participating organizations at an open house for the USC-Max Kade Institute, home of the university’s German Studies and European Studies programs. The open house took place on April 12, 2013.
Guests watched testimony at a computer station connected via Wi-Fi to the Foundation’s Visual History Archive, which is available at USC and more than 40 other institutions around the world.
USC Shoah Foundation’s associate director of research, Dan Leshem, participated in Cardozo School of Law’s Law and Film course taught by documentary filmmaker/historian Christian Delage on Sept. 29.
