In 2010, the Malach Visual History Centre at Charles University became the first site in the Czech Republic where people can access the Visual History Archive. This Friday, the university will mark the anniversary by welcoming academicians and officials from across the Czech Republic.

Video testimonies from the Institute's archive are included in two documentaries that will air on Italian television on January 27, 2011, in recognition of the International Day of Commemoration In Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.  If you have access to the following Italian-language channels, we encourage you to watch them.

On January 27, 2011, Anna Lenchovska, the Institute’s regional coordinator in Ukraine takes part in a round table, “Ukrainian society and Holocaust remembrance: research and educational aspects,” at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine.

United Nations, USC Shoah Foundation Institute, and Yad Vashem to release new educational resource.

JANUARY 6, 2011—JERUSALEM—Sixteen college professors from across the United States are attending a special seminar at Yad Vashem’s International School for Holocaust Studies this week to study about the Holocaust and antisemitism. The weeklong “Echoes and Reflections Professors’ Study Tour” opened January 5, 2010. Some of the professors will remain for additional study days.  

Kim Simon, Managing Director of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute, will be awarded an Alumni Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from her alma mater, Colorado College, during the opening convocation ceremony on Monday, September 5, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education will present its Web application IWitness, now in beta, at the 2012 National Council of Teachers of English Annual Convention. The convention will take place from November 15–18 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

“We are convinced that access to this unique archive will promote research and teaching on the history of Thessaloniki and the Holocaust,” said Yannis Mylopoulos, Rector of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. “Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is proud to support efforts directed toward honoring and commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, especially the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki and its victims during the World War II.”

A USC Soá Intézet idén immár másodszor vesz részt az egyéves Holokauszt-oktatási Szakértőképzési Programon.

Bokor Balázs nagykövet, Los Angeles-i főkonzul Dr. Stephen D. Smith, a USC Soá Intézet igazgatójának meghívására június 15-én látogatást tett az Intézet Los Angeles-i központjában. A látogatás során Dr. Smith megismertette a főkonzul urat az Intézet, munkájával, különösen hangsúlyozva az Intézet nemzetközi, ezen belül is kiemelten magyarországi oktatási tevékenységét.
