Six Easy Steps to Join #IWitnessChat

Tue, 09/22/2015 - 2:49pm

In an effort to create a deeper engagement with educators online, USC Shoah Foundation’s educational website IWitness is hosting monthly Twitter chat's on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month. We are looking forward to discussing how educators and their students use IWitness activities. Are you looking forward to meeting fellow educators and learning more about IWitness but need some help when it comes to Twitter?

Well we are here to help!

What is a Twitter chat? A Twitter chat is simply a conversation on Twitter. Below you will find 6 steps to help you join the chat.

Step 1: Make sure you are on Twitter

To participate you must have an account on Twitter. If you need help setting up a Twitter account click here.

 Step 2: Follow @USCIWitness

On the day of the chat (2nd & 4th Wednesdays) visit IWitness Twitter handle / profile @USCIWitness at 4 p.m. PT/ 7 p.m. ET

Step 3: Engage with the hashtag #IWitnessChat

Type in #IWitnessChat in the search bar to follow the conversation

For more advance users, you can follow #IWitnessChat via Tweetdeck or Twubs

Step 4: Answer Questions

Throughout the chat @USCIWitness will be asking questions for participants to answer. In order to know which questions you are answering, number the answers in your tweets.

For example:

@USCIWitness Q1: How do you use IWitness in your classroom? #IWitnessChat

@Number1Teacher A1: I use video testimonies in my 9th gr Social Studies class for my students to connect to history. #IWitnessChat

Step 5: Always use the hashtag #IWitnessChat

In every tweet during the chat always include #IWitnessChat so you are part of the conversation.

Step 6: Have Fun!

We are offering the Twitter Chats as a place for educators to meet fellow educators, ask questions, share best practices and create a community.

We hope this was helpful in your Twitter journey and we hope to see you at the next #IWitnessChat
