USC Shoah Foundation partner Echoes and Reflections is launching a three-week online professional development webinar series for educators on Tuesday, April 4, 2016.

Educators can finish the school year with a three-part online professional development course from Echoes and Reflections on teaching the Holocaust using testimony from the Visual History Archive and other primary and secondary sources.

This seminar will extend Echoes & Reflections Teacher's Resource Guide Lessons and work to deepen participant knowledge of the topic through testimony and other IWitness resources.

Lesly Culp, USC Shoah Foundation Senior Education Specialist and Trainer, delivered an introductory IWitness workshop for the participants during the week-long program.

Echoes and Reflections, a Holocaust education partnership program of USC Shoah Foundation, Anti-Defamation League and Yad Vashem, published a new lesson dedicated to teaching students about antisemitism as it exists in the world today.

Educators can register for a variety of free webinars throughout October and November that will provide an introduction to the resources and teaching strategies of Echoes and Reflections.

December 15 will mark the beginning of a pilot for a new professional development offering from Echoes and Reflections: a three-hour, self-guided course that teaches educators everything they need to know about using Echoes and Reflections to teach about the Holocaust.

The Kristallnacht pogrom was a critical turning point on the path to genocide, and all of our #IWitnessChat participants agreed that using testimony is a meaningful way for students to understand and connect with the event. Hearing survivors’ detailed accounts of this night makes it much more accessible to students.
