Steven Spielberg and USC Shoah Foundation Institute Recognize Arnold Spielberg with Inaugural Inspiration Award
LOS ANGELES – April 26, 2012 – Arnold Spielberg, father of USC Shoah Foundation Institute Founder Steven Spielberg, was honored today with the Institute’s inaugural Inspiration Award at a private luncheon in Los Angeles. Arnold was recognized for his many years of mentorship and support of the Institute’s work, especially in the area of humanity through technology.

LA City Council honors Institute on Armenian Genocide Commemoration Day
On April 20, at Los Angeles City Hall, Councilmember Paul Krekorian, together with co-host Councilmember Eric Garcetti, recognized the USC Shoah Foundation Institute and the Armenian Film Foundation for working jointly to preserve memories of survivors and other witnesses of the Armenian Genocide.
"Probing the Ethics of Holocaust Culture"
On April 21 through 23, the USC Shoah Foundation Institute participated in an international conference, "History Unlimited: Probing the Ethics of Holocaust Culture." The conference asked the question of whether ethical or aesthetic limits should be placed on how the Holocaust is represented in fiction or nonfiction.

The History Meeting House in Warsaw has become the first institution in Poland to offer full access to the Archive of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education. Nearly 52,000 videotaped testimonies of Holocaust survivors and other witnesses, recorded in 56 countries and in 32 languages—mostly between 1994 and 1999—can now be remotely accessed via an online interface that allows searching and viewing the fully indexed video and related metadata.

Institute honored by USC Institute of Armenian Studies
The USC Institute of Armenian Studies’ Leadership Council honored the USC Shoah Foundation Institute at an April 15 gala banquet.
The USC Shoah Foundation Institute was honored for championing the Armenian Genocide Digitization Project, which aims to gather and preserve digital copies of all existing interviews with Armenian Genocide survivors and other witnesses. The Dr. J. Michael Hagopian/Armenian Film Foundation archive of nearly 400 testimonies will be the first collection in the Armenian Genocide Digitization Project.
