Cate Wilson is the Community Engagement and Outreach specialist for the USC Shoah Foundation’s education department. She earned an MA in Religion and is completing her PhD, both from Claremont School of Theology. She joined the Institute in 2016. In addition to community engagement and outreach, she draws on 15 years of experience as a line-producer and production manager in the film and television industries contributing to project management for the education department. She earned her PhD in Practical Theology from Claremont McKenna College.

Susan Popler is Director of the Visual History Archive Program where she is driving initiatives to reimagine how audiences access, engage with and learn from testimony with the goal of expanding global reach, increasing interactions and impact. Prior to joining USC, Susan was Executive Director of Production Operations at Time Inc. During her 18 year tenure, she worked with magazines such as Time, Life, People, InStyle, and Fortune.

Letisha Young joined the Shoah Foundation in July of 2017 as the Program Manager of Administrative Programs.  She oversees Human Resources and Facilities for the Foundation.  Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked as a HR Analyst for the Dornsife Business office for 2 years.  Letisha received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Human Resources from California State University, Northridge.  She also holds two HR Certifications. (Professional in Human Resources- PHR and Society of Human Resources SHRM-CP).

Rachel Herman helps curate content for IWitness and other educational programs.  Rachel received her M.A. in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from Stockton University, and worked at the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh for four years.  Rachel also worked at the Holocaust Council of Greater MetroWest in New Jersey and was an intern at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City.

Mark Weicht is a Video Archivist and Post Production Specialist. He also has fabricated many items designed for use with several DIT projects and exhibits. Prior to joining the staff at the Shoah Foundation, Mark worked at Post Production facilities around the Los Angeles area including Herzog and Company where they won 4 Primetime Emmy's for "Gettysburg (2011)".

Svetlana Ushakova provides the service of research, annotation, and evaluation to the Dimensions in Testimony program. In 2014-2018, she worked at USC Shoah Foundation as an indexer and research assistant. Before she moved to the USA, she worked for ten years as a researcher at an academic institution in Russia and has several publications. Svetlana received her doctorate in Russian History from Novosibirsk State University, Russia, and her master in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University.

Edith Umugiraneza joined the USC Shoah Foundation in 2009 as a consultant and later became an indexer. Before that, she lived in Canada for 10 years. Edith graduated from College Sainte-Foy with a degree in social work and got a bachelor’s degree from Laval University in multidisciplinary studies. Edith has worked for several organizations and the government especially in the field of integration and adaptation of immigrants.

Alex Paiva Jr is a programmer helping build the Dimension in Testimony platform by using AI services to allow for an interactive experience with testimonies from survivor. Previously in his career Alex has worked on building and implementing enterprise level applications. He received a BS in Computer Engineering degree from California State University Northridge.

Larina Palacpac supports the financial management of the Institute by assisting in account reconciliation, budget development and financial reporting. Prior to joining USC Shoah Foundation, Larina worked as a Budget/Business Technician at the USC Dornsife Business Office for six years where she was responsible for processing procurement orders and reimbursement requests for a high-volume research intensive department. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Southern California.

Alan Auyeung oversees the collection, management and transfer area of broadcast video equipment; administers educational, instructional and reference materials collections; and provides services for patrons including ensuring requests for distribution copies of the archive are fulfilled.  Prior to joining USC, Alan worked at a Los-Angeles area post-production technical support service provider for 20 years as an Electronic Technician, with experiences in post-production systems and equipment repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Ita is a cataloguer and indexer of Holocaust survivors testimonies. She also worked as a translator. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, as well as conversant in Yiddish. Ita Gordon trained interviewers in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil; she trains and mentors prospective cataloguers and indexers. Representing the Institute, Ita reached out to community leaders in South America, especially in Brazil, during the early phase of collecting survivor testimony.

Mya Worrell (they/them) supports the Center's programming, research, and outreach. They’ve been with USC since 2016, earning a BA in Gender & Sexuality Studies and American Studies & Ethnicity in 2020. They joined the Center for Advanced Genocide Research in 2021. While an undergraduate student, they interned at USC Asian Pacific American Student Services and Kaya Press, assisting with events and developing programming.

Noah began his role as Associate Director of Annual Giving for USC Shoah Foundation in 2021. He leads the Institute’s comprehensive annual fund program and is responsible for content development, strategy, and general annual fund progress. Before joining the Institute’s advancement team, he worked in annual giving at Caltech and graduated from the University of Michigan.

Since December 2021 Matthew Rabin has served as Senior Director of Development for USC Shoah Foundation, coming from his prior role as Chief Development Officer for the Doheny Eye Institute. He has twenty years in the field, having worked at Stanford University, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.  He received his B.A. from Rutgers College, Rutgers University, and his Juris Doctor from George Washington University. Prior to development work, he was a community organizer and attorney.

Before this role, she served as a Managing Partner at Oishii Creative, a creative and brand strategy firm working with companies such as EA Games, FOX, NBC-Universal, NFL Network, Scripps Media, Disney, and Discovery.
