Effort to create electronic master copies of the testimonies continues as new shipment of tapes arrives for duplication

A shipment of videotapes containing the master recordings of 15,000 testimonies arrived at the USC Shoah Foundation Institute on July 12, 2010.  As part of an ongoing effort to preserve the testimonies in perpetuity, the tapes will be duplicated in an advanced electronic format that will preserve their picture and sound quality and make it easier to create additional copies in a variety of commonly used formats.
