Yad Vashem International Conference on Holocaust Education to showcase IWitness platform
As a part of Yad Vashem's 8th International Conference on Holocaust Education taking place in Jerusalem, Martin Šmok, the USC Shoah Foundation Institute's Senior International Program Consultant, will present the IWitness educational platform on June 20. Titled "Holocaust Survivor Testimony and 21st Century Literacy," the presentation will discuss IWitness's pedagogy, functionality, and potential for impact on the educational landscape.
On the same day, Marji Lipshez Shapiro of the Anti-Defamation League will present Echoes and Reflections, an award-winning multimedia curriculum on the Holocaust that places a particular focus on defining resistance.
The conference features multiple resources designed to educate students on Holocaust history, literature, art, music, medicine, law, theology, and philosophy, and to make Holocaust-related issues applicable in the lives of contemporary students.
Echoes and Reflections was developed by the USC Shoah Foundation Institute in partnership with the Anti-Defamation League and Yad Vashem.
