PastFORWARD “Liberation” Broadcast Launches Today on Xfinity
For the fourth consecutive year, USC Shoah Foundation is partnering with Comcast Xfinity to offer a special on-demand broadcast free to Xfinity subscribers. The content will be available through December 29, 2017.
The theme for the PastFORWARD broadcast this year is “Liberation.” Led by the feature film Saving Private Ryan, viewers will explore the stories of liberators and those they liberated from genocide – acts that inspired the first moments of hope amidst the unthinkable.
The broadcast includes the documentary feature The Liberators: Why We Fought, short clips of testimonies from the Visual History Archive and 11 full-length testimonies. The testimonies include Holocaust liberators, Rwandan Tutsi Genocide aid givers, and survivors, and cover not only recollections of liberation but also the aftermath of liberation – how the liberators and survivors built their lives after the war.
