18 Educators return to the Institute for a 3-day follow-up professional development workshop


Participants from the 2010 Master Teacher Workshop meet a year later to share their testimony-based projects and discuss the progress of piloting them in the classroom.  They also receive continuing education credits.

The USC Shoah Foundation Institute hosted a three-day follow-up workshop for 18 educators who attended the 2010 Master Teacher Workshop, which is the centerpiece of the “Teaching With Testimony” certification program.

USC Shoah Foundation Institute offers professional development for U.S. teachers on the intersection of Holocaust studies and multiliteracies


The USC Shoah Foundation Institute, whose work centers on making educational and scholarly use of their archive of nearly 52,000 video testimonies of survivors and other witnesses of the Holocaust, will hold its third annual Teaching with Testimony Workshop this week for participants in the Institute’s Master Teacher Program, who hail from 15 cities in seven states.

Northwestern University gains access to Institute's Visual History Archive


Northwestern University Library has just become the first institution in Illinois to offer complete access to the nearly 52,000 videotaped testimonies of Holocaust survivors and other witnesses contained in the USC Shoah Foundation Institute's Visual History Archive.

New Hungarian-Language Lesson


As a result of partnership between the Shoah Foundation Institute at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and the Holocaust Memorial Center and the Education Research and Development Institute in Budapest, a Hungarian-language educational resource Sodródás és szembenállás - Sorsok a vészkorszakban (Drifting and Opposition-Human Fates in the Shoah) was developed by Peter Molnar, history teacher and high school assistant principal.

New Series of Clips Added to the Testimony Clip Viewer

The Institute has added a new series of clips on the topic of music to the Testimony Clip Viewer. The new series demonstrates the depth of the Institute's archive by revealing an area that is not usually thought of as playing a role during the Holocuast.
