The annual conference brings together experts in the field to discuss new research and advances in oral history and its use in a variety of contexts.
Polish educators shared the innovative ways they have used testimony in their classrooms since they completed USC Shoah Foundation’s Master Teacher program last year.
The new testimony will join an interview Hovannisian gave filmmaker J. Michael Hagopian in 1975 that is already available to view in the Visual History Archive.
McBride will first give a lunchtime workshop on how to use the Visual History Archive in research and teaching. At 7 p.m., he will give a lecture "Of course, they were Neighbors": Testimony, Archives and the Holocaust in Ukraine.” Both will be held at Belk Library and Information Commons room 114.
The conference is an opportunity to share highlights from the past year’s Visual History Archive use in Czech Republic, including research projects, partnerships with other institutions, and secondary education.
USC Shoah Foundation has established four “mirror sites” for the Visual History Archive, guaranteeing that a fully-functional Visual History Archive will exist in perpetuity outside its home at the University of Southern California.

Over 85 members of the Glendale, Calif. community attended a presentation organized by the Glendale Public Library on Oct. 26 about the Visual History Archive’s Armenian Genocide testimony collection and educational resources on IWitness.
USC Shoah Foundation staff and partners will present the Visual History Archive and IWitness at a seminar and conference in Central Europe next week.
This program introduces learners to classroom-ready comprehensive print and online resources, sound pedagogy for teaching about the Holocaust and instructional pathways to help students learn about the complex history of the Holocaust.
