After completing an intense two-week introductory session at the University of Southern California, seven students and two professors are ready to begin this summer’s Problems Without Passports trip to Rwanda.

Attendees of Central European University’s Future of Holocaust Memorialization: Confronting Racism, Antisemitism and Homophobia through Memory Work conference this week had two opportunities to learn about the Visual History Archive from a USC Shoah Foundation teaching fellow and staff.

Over the last six weeks, I have had the unique opportunity to be the Senior Fellow at USC Shoah Foundation - The Institute for Visual History and Education. It’s been an honor for me to be here, especially since I led the Institute between 2000 and 2008. Returning to this remarkable place, having the opportunity to use the Visual History Archive, and working among dear former colleagues and new friends has been simply thrilling.

USC Shoah Foundation’s 2014 teaching and research fellowships have been awarded to professors and students from a diverse range of disciplines, including writing, anthropology, law and history.
