The first-ever recipient of USC Shoah Foundation Center for Advanced Genocide Research’s Genocide Prevention Research Fellowship is Vanessa Belén Dorda Meneses, a PhD candidate from the University of Chile.

Following the success of two visits by the Holocaust Geographies Collaborative research group to USC Shoah Foundation Center for Advanced Genocide Research, the next recipients of the annual Interdisciplinary Research Week fellowship have been chosen.

Doctoral candidates can conduct research in the Visual History Archive through three endowed fellowships. The application deadline is December 15, 2016.

Gerald Breslauer, Mickey Rutman, Tammy Anderson and Sharon De Greiff have provided the $100,000 gift to create the Breslauer, Rutman and Anderson Research Fellowship at the Center.

During her month in residence at USC Shoah Foundation, Walch will research the exclusion of German Jews from their own homeland during the Holocaust through Nazi policies restricting Jewish spaces and architecture.

​Katja Schatte, a scholar of postwar East German Jewish history, will be in residence at USC Shoah Foundation Center for Advanced Genocide Research in spring 2017 as the Center’s 2016-17 Greenberg Research Fellow.

The 2016-2017 Center Fellow at USC Shoah Foundation Center for Advanced Genocide Research will be Alexander Korb, Ph.D., director of the Stanley Burton Centre for Holocaust & Genocide Studies at the University of Leicester and scholar of the Holocaust in southeastern Europe.

Korb will be in residence at USC Shoah Foundation in Los Angeles in spring and summer 2017 and will give a public lecture about his research during his stay.

USC Shoah Foundation Center for Advanced Genocide Research is offering summer fellowships for undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty at University of Southern California. The deadline to submit an application is March 31, 2016.
